Meanwhile Renuka's parents had

come from chennai. Rajiv thought it would be a good idea to tell her parents. When Ranjith and Renuka were walking, they

found a small hut where they could take shelter. It was raining heavily and they spent quality time there. Renuka started

thinking a lot. She enjoyed the company of Ranjith and she didnt expect Ranjith to be the person she thought. May be she

always had Rajiv in her mind and could not think about another person. You cant blame her for this. Ranjith realised this and

he was trying to make the conversation as common as possible and tried to bring in Rajiv in his conversation. He did this

mainly to avoid any sort of intentions on his mind as well as Renuka's mind.

She started asking questions about Roopa. She told Ranjith that they dont make a good pair. Ranjith got confused with

Renuka's statements and avoided the topic. The rain had stopped and they walked for another 3 hours finally to see a small

village near by. Ranjith went to a PCO and called Rajiv immediately. Rajiv,Roopa,Renuka's parents came and took them away.

Rajiv was very happy to see Renuka back and felt like hugging her, but realised her parents were around. Renuka's parents

took her back to chennai.

Rajiv came to chennai and called Renuka and they were talking for 30 minutes. The only topic Renuka was talking was about

Ranjith. She didnt tell Rajiv about what she had in her mind about Ranjith. She was confused whether its just a friendly

affection or a step more than that. A person who saves another person's life need not be a Partner. Even a Policeman saves

people. Does that mean one should marry a Policeman. On the other hand Rajiv had been the only thought in her mind for a long

time.

Two days later Renuka's parents called Ranjith and Rajiv home for lunch and they were talking about the incident. Rajiv was

quiet most of the times. He was careful. Not to talk much infront of future Mother in law and Father in law. Ranjith on the

other hand was at his best. He was very jovial. After they left, Renuka's parents came up to her and asked something which

got Renuka by surprise. Ranjith is a nice person and do you have any interest in marrying him. This was exactly what her

parents asked. They also felt the family business was an important thing. Renuka started thinking. She had waited for a long

time for Rajiv to get settled and now she was getting the offer of marrying a person who is settled, has things in common and

her parents like him. What else do u need in a person ???

The confusion prevailed for couple of days and she asked her friends and everybody thought it was up to her to decide and it

woudnt be fair on their part to suggest a person. She finally made a decision. She called Rajiv and wanted to tell him. She

could not control it any more. It was really paining, but she had to talk to someone. She thought Rajiv would be a better

choice to talk than Ranjith.

She called him and asked him to come to Coffee day. Both of them reached the place by 5 pm and she was silent till 6.30. She

asked Rajiv to take her to the beach. They went in his scooty to the beach and finally at 7.30 she started talking. She told

Rajiv about the feelings she had for Ranjith, What her parents thought about him and the things they had in common. She told

Rajiv that she had only him in her mind and was confused about Ranjith now. Rajiv said he knew about this as Ranjith had told

him what happened. He also said it was fair on her part to think this way. She had been waiting for him for a long time and

nothing really happened. It was Practical that she gets married to a person who is well settled.

When Rajiv finished, Tears rolled from the corner of her eyes. Her ears turned red. Rajiv was not able to see this in dark.

The next moment he realised that she was hugging him and gave a comforting kiss on his cheeks. Thats the best thing to have

happened. She realised the feeling she had for Ranjith is Friendship, but the feeling she had for Rajiv is lot different. She

said the only person for whom she made a lot of sacrifices was Rajiv and did not want it to go waste. They decided they would

take time till Rajiv gets settled and tell their parents.

They just had to wait for 5 months when Rajiv got an offer in United States and they got married and the last thing i heard

from sources were that both of them are happily married and found somewhere in the silicon valley. Meanwhile Ranjith is still

searching for a proper Partner.

An interesting Story Part -1

Rajiv and Renuka were seeing each other for the past 3 years. They were college buddies who had similar interest and fell in love. They knew that their parents would not agree to this marriage. They were also ready to convince them and get married. Rajiv was working in a small Software company and trying really hard to get settled in life. Whereas Renuka got good marks in college and was placed in Intel. Both of them were working in Bangalore. They would have a lot of time for themselves. They meet every day in Shivaji park bus stand and the road side Ice cream shop next to the Bus stand where they would get double Sunday with Ice cream of your choice. That would be their dinner and they would travel back home in the bus. Both of them stayed as Paying Guest in Koramangala National Games Village. Renuka prefers coffee and is a Fitness freak. Renuka finishes her daily brisk walk for 30 minutes as Rajiv sits in the bench waiting for her. They get ready and leave to their respective office. Rajiv's office was near Shivaji Park where as Renuka's office was opposite to Leela Palace on the Airport road. Renuka would come everyday to Shivaji Park from Airport road.

Their college mate Ranjith was also in the same town. Everyone liked him. His father was a Multi billionaire and had a company in Bangalore. After Ranjith finished his studies, he had to take care of his father's company. He had a Girlfriend Roopa who was a Banglorean. Ranjith is a smart, down to earth person. His ambition is to stand on his own legs and do well like his father. His girlfriend Roopa was out of many relationship and Ranjith always had a feeling that she liked him as he was rich. Ranjith was very close to Rajiv and Renuka. Every weekend he would take them out and talk a lot about their college. During that time, Roopa would be out of place and Renuka keeps reminding Ranjith to talk something common.

It was a long weekend with Friday, Saturday and Sunday being holiday. Ranjith called Rajiv and Renuka and confirmed the plan of going to Coorg for the weekend. Rajiv, as usual had a problem. Being month end and not enough money in hand. He said he is not interested. Ranjith knew this and convinced Rajiv to make it. They left early on Friday morning in Ranjith black Scorpio. They reached Coorg and checked in to a Hotel. 2 rooms with Rajiv and Renuka sharing one and Ranjith and Roopa sharing another. They had their bath and lunch and quickly munched their Lunch. The usual Sweet sambhar and lot of coconuts in vegetables. It was raining heavily and they were well covered and were moving towards Thalai kaveri. The road was extremely slippery and narrow. They reached Thalai kaveri and Renuka was so excited and she immediately jumped from the Car as soon as it stopped. Rajiv warned her about the slippery road. The road was really wet and Renuka wanted to see what was there at the edge of the road.

She saw nothing but lot of trees and there was no land. She peeped and slipped and fell and Ranjith was close to her and he caught her immediately and both of them fell from the Hill. They were caught in couple of trees and finally hit the ground. Both of them were semi conscious and were wet. Rajiv and Roopa didn’t have a clue as to what had happened. Rajiv shouted for help and there were very few people around. Rajiv immediately took the car and went to a near by police station to launch a complaint. Meanwhile Ranjith got up and saw no one around and started waking up Renuka. Renuka woke up and started to cry. She was in great pain and was extremely afraid. She hugged Ranjith and Ranjith tried a lot to pacify her. He said things are under control and they would walk for some distance and could find a village near by and could reach Coorg.

Ranjith was such a sweet person and was very genuine and frank.

Rajiv lodged a complaint and the police were trying really hard to rescue both of them. After all they are not Superman to jump into the forest and find them. Meanwhile Ranjith and Renuka started walking and as they walked Ranjith tried to cheer Renuka and started talking about their college and jokes. Renuka was getting better and was happy. The rain stopped and Ranjith made shelter with some leaves so that they could sleep in the night. Renuka slept and when she got up in the morning she saw Ranjith sitting in a corner and sleeping. She asked why he didn’t sleep in the shelter. He replied that she would not be comfortable. Renuka realized he’s such a nice person. They had a lot of things in common. Their interest, their lifestyle, and the way they dress. Their favorite actor was Kamal Hassan, where as Rajiv was a Rajinikhanth fan.

An Honest effort

Over the past 2 months i have shared my blogs with my collegues and friends and have introduced a lot of people to blog. But i feel i havent done justice to my page. Its sporting a sorry figure. Here am back to write something to beautify the site.. Atleast a honest effort from my side to do so.

Things have not been the same for the past few months. When i was working in bangalore, I was cribbing that i didnt have any work to do and going to office to have food , chat with people and use Microsoft's full online resources and also some other online resources. Just for your information, my port was blocked 4 times for excessive download. 10 Months later am sitting in front of my computer, and typing this blog.

The past 10 months have been hectic. Unbelievable shifts, unachievable targets, yet i have been honestly giving my 100% and more than that at times. This is a confession which havent been shared even with some of my buddies. I would actually say that hardwork would never go waste. I am still waiting for the seed to grow into a tree to eat my fruit. I am still waiting for that day.

Things would really depressing at times when you look at this situation. I lost my health and energy and have put in all the efforts in this job. I would not like to see it going waste by jumping to another place. I have been a monkey. Jumping from one place to another. Ideally i would like to settle down. I still remember the days where i was a regular passenger in Lalbagh express and Brindhavan. The auto drivers in cantonment station would recognize me immediately. 8 months of weekly travel from and to Bangalore was fun.

I had good 12 hours to and fro to think about life. To plan every step in my life. As usual nothing went as per plan. There are some people do things what their heart says and others who do things what their mind says. The first category people are instinctive and truthful, whereas the second category people will always succeed in life. There is no mark for guessing which category i belong to. Thats why i am and would always honestly try to succeed in life.

Indian cricket ---April 2005

Saturday night, I had been to Mumbai express and came out disappointed. I thought the Indian team could give me some joy the next morning. That was not the case. The most annoying part for all the Indian supporter is the fact that the big players are not performing. If you look at the line-up which consisted of Sehwag,Sachin,Dravid,Yuvaraj and Kaif. These are big names in Indian cricket and if these cricketers dont perform, what would be the state of indian cricket. As a spectator and a close follower of Indian cricket, I have noticed that Complatency sets in to the top indian cricketers,I might be wrong. Its been a while since i have seen Yuvaraj and Kaif scoring. It is really difficult to play number 6 and 7. But that's there specialised job. I would say Jadeja and Robin were more consistent than these Kaif and Yuvaraj. Rahul is amazing. He was brilliant and consistent in this one-day series. Sachin and Sehwag were good in patches and so was Dhoni. Dinesh Mongia hasnt got enough oppurtunities to prove himself.

Now its a very tricky situation for the Selectors. I also heard that its gonna be a paid job. I am sure they would be accountable for the selection they make. No one complains these days about regionalism. That is surely a forgotten word in Indian cricket and I hope it remains the same. With Ganguly banned for 6 one-days and 2 of them already over, the selectors would have a challenging job to pick the Indian team for the next 4 one-dayers. The next series for India would be in late July, a triangular featuring India,Srilanka and West Indies in Srilanka. John wright has left India already and had a word before he left. He wanted coaches to have a say in selection. I would think that is a wise idea. I would like to play the role of a selector for that series. I would really go for cricketers who are all-rounders. Do we have one?? There are talented people and its high time they are given a chance. I would say Kaif,Yuvaraj and mongia are definetly not all-rounders. Kaif and Yuvaraj are brilliant in the field, but catches or saves dont always save matches. Taking wickets and scoring runs would always win matches. It's high time people like JP Yadhav,S Sriram,Raina,Vidyuth gets a chance in one day cricket.

India should not go by past performance of a player, rather should think of his present form. Many would disagree with me, but i feel Jadeja who has been consistent and experienced should be back into the Indian team. The captaincy is another big question mark. If a player is not in good form, he definetly would not have the confidence of leading the team. I really think its a nice idea for Ganguly to concentrate more on his batting. I really miss the way he hits those cover drives and stepping out and hitting the fast bowlers and spinners. It would not be a bad idea to have him open with sachin with Sehwag coming in at three and Dhoni at 4. That would make our top order extremely attacking. Dravid at 5 would be of good support. He could attack as well as defend. Irfan Pathan has to make a comeback and India should give away the idea of playing 3 genuine fast bowlers if a person like JP Yadhav can contribute. Its more of an idea derived out of the Aussie and Pakistan model. Players like Ian Harvey, Abdul Razzaq,Shoiab MaliK. India should try grooming people like this if we can compete in 2007 World cup. We need a bowler like Venkatesh Prasad who could mix up his deliveries and produce those unplayable slower legcutters.

India would also be under a new coach and time would say how they adapt themselve to the new coach. I hope indians dont compare him with John. As a passionate Indian cricket follower, I would say if Indians dont think out of the box, they would find it difficult to perform well in One-day cricket.

Marriage

My friend got married on the 14th of feb. It was the first marriage in my friend's group, rather very close friends group. The excitment and joy attending a marriage cannot be expressed in words or actions. Imagine two people completely alien to eachother become close buddies because of a yellow rope and 3 knots. Huge power!!! . His marriage was different. Three years relationship. One in Arizona and the other in Sydney, finally got married in chennai on Feb 14th. Things dont get more romantic than this.

Coming to marriage where the guy and gal don't know eachother before marriage. Guy goes to the gal's house. Has junk food. Wants to talk to the girl for half an hour and takes an instinctive decision to get married. Instinctiveness, as you know is neither from the mind nor from your heart. Marriage like those depend mostly on physical attraction. Guy working in US has 3 weeks of leave. Comes and looks at the girl, talks for 30 minutes. Girl agrees and they get married and go back to US. I dont say this marriage will not work out. But imagine a month back, both of them were complete strangers. One month later, they are the most important person in eachother's life. Is this love, friendship or infatuation?????

I always believed in this theory, Love starts as infatuation, carries on as friendship and ends in marriage. Here the whole logic is reversed. It starts as infatuation, forced to get married and end up loving eachother. A proverb in tamil explains this better "Paduthindu pothinda enna? pothindu padutha enna? ", Doesnt make a difference to lie down and cover yourself with blanket or cover yourself with blanket and lie down. The difference between these kind of marriages and love marriages is you get to know the person before and you are sure about the compatibility and then get committed. Here you get committed and then think of compatibility. The second case is good in a way. You tend to adjust more.

Now i have a question? How much can one adjust with another. Does adjusting mean losing out your individuality. For example the girl would never like cricket, but the guy would be a die hard cricket fan. After marriage she would love cricket. What does this mean to you?? Adjustment, sacrifice, losing out on your individuality or just knowing new things in life. I know how challenging and depressing would it be to a girl from Chennai to go and be a house wife at the silicon valley. Waiting for her husband to come home. No neighbours to gossip, No neighbours to discuss about what happened in Aanandham serial. No chance of going out with friends, No roadside dhaabas, no kumbakonam degree coffee, yet she has got her husband with her who goes to office and slogs day in and day out, checking emails and chatting with friends.

Marriage is responsibility, when a guy looks at marrying a gal, he must also look at how responsible she would be. Would she suit his lifestyle, What can she do after marriage?? Thats the reason i strongly believe in having a courtship before marriage for atleast 6 months having a condition to call it off from both the ends at any point of time. This might not sound probable, but this is very practical.

Oops am i getting old?? Talking a lot about marriage. Just something which came to my mind!!!

Fear of Losing

The fear of losing is worse than fear of dying. Being a typical Leo, I want to win even in arguments and in roadside cricket games, or even winning against a small kid. May be its because am a Leo or could be because am from a family who have that mindset. My sister had fears of losing, so she didnt even attempt to do her CA,even after getting a state rank in school. Though i didnt have fear of failing in exams, coz i was never good in them. Fear of losing out on someone in job is the most common fear i have in life.

Though it hasnt happened technically,it has happened because someone had been the boss's chamcha. How does it feel when you have someone as your boss who knows half of what you know. How will u react when things like this happen. Simple i would just laugh and keep laughing. Keep laughing till i have the last laugh. Its easy in life to climb up the ladder, but very difficult in allowing others climb the ladder.

I had a great team lead when i joined the industry, he made sure talented people go up. But its really hard to see people like that these days. Being a medium level management person, i make sure that i am friendly with people around me and appreciate people for their good work by giving them whatever i could possibly give. That has made me reduce my frusturation and give more attention to the other side of my job.

This is the technique, if you fear losing, then dont think about it, divert yourself from it and it really helps

How good are you in adapting??

The land of oppurtunities (SO-CALLED) has welcomed a lot of people from India from the 50's,60's,70's,80's,90's. The second generation Americans also known as ABCD have very good adaptibility. They pick up the language really fast, but fail to talk properly in their mother tounge. The anology is people from the south go and settle in Mumbai, Delhi and other northen parts of india pick up hindi really fast where as their tamil is not as good as their hindi.

Most of the families speak tamil at home, but how did the way they speak tamil has changed completely. Has tamil changed down south or do they have hindi influence. Being in the corporate world, i have been thought to think in english. Only then you could be successful and communicate properly. Just wondering how many languages do the north indian tamilans would think in, hindi, tamil and english.

This is not meant to criticize or mock these people. Its is just an eye opener for people who go and settle in the north or outside india. This could also be an eye opener for the kids of tamilans who stay in north. Lets not forget our roots and make it a point to teach kids tamil. I have known a lot of families in north speak very good tamil, but the ratio is very less.

Coming from chennai, I know people from SOWCARPET.This is a location where you have people from Rajastan. The speak good tamil as well as very good hindi. This always happens. When a hindi speaking family settles here, they happen to speak good hindi and well as decent tamil. Does it mean that southindians dont adapt or north indians.

The most sickening thing i hear is people from india getting settled in US and still complain about politics, pollution, traffic, water, heat. They dont realise that they were here before going to America. If sewage enters your house would you vacate your house and complain that sewage has entered your house or find ways to clean it. Its time we Indians stay here and do good for the country.Have we ever heard of IBCA (Indian Born Confused Americans)?? The land of oppurtunity is changing. You would have more oppurtunities coming in India and people migrating to india is gonna be high.

Who should marry Vani???

I am back with a story which is really tricky, some might feel it absurd, some might have experienced it and some would have seen it happen around them. This is one such story which i had seen.

Vishal was from a X community and was very much interested in Vani from a Y community (I dont want to name them as i feel every community is the same). Vishal ,Vani and Vijay were very close school buddies who happen to go to the same college. Vishal and Vijay were in Mechanical Department and the class next to them was the ECE department. Every day all the 3 would hangout at the college canteen. Vani used to bring chappatis from home and Vishal and Vijay used to enjoy it. Vani had 3 lunch boxed brought to the canteen. Vijay was very close to vani and her family as both of them were from the Y community. Vishal always had interest on Vani and never recriprocated. Vani also liked Vishal as he was very caring and soft spoken and very good in studies and singing. Vijay was the happy go lucky types. But Vishal was skeptical about telling Vani or Vijay about the interest he had in her.

College went on well and they had a campus interview were Vishal was placed in Infosys , whereas Vani got into TCS. Vijay was more interested in pursuing his higher studies. He didnot attend the interview. Things went on well and everybody moved to different places. Vishal to mysore, Vani to Cochin and Vijay to Texas. They used to chat regularly and whenever Vishal and Vani were in town for holidays they would meet. Time went by and both of them finished a year at work. This was the time when Vishal and Vani really came close to each other. Vishal was convinced that he wanted to marry her. He got the courage and managed to tell Vani. Vani, just like most girls thought for sometime. She knew that her parents, who were from an orthodox background would not appreciate this wedding. She liked Vishal but this was the thing which was on her mind. She asked for sometime .

Two weeks later she got a phone call from Vijay saying he had come to Chennai and would like to meet her on Saturday when she would come home. Vijay also called Vishal and asked him to come. When Vani reached home , she was surprised to see Vijay and his parents at her place. Vijay told her that he always wanted to marry her and never managed to tell her as he wasnt settled in life. Now that he has got a good job in US , he would like to marry a person whom he knows and whom he would be comfortable with. Vani's parents were also comfortable with this.Vani got a shock of her life. She started thinking whether she should marry the Vishal whom she likes ,but of a different community or Vijay, their good friend who is also the choice of their parents.

I am not going to finish this story. Let me explain the situation even better. Marry a person of a different community to whom she has not yet commited or marry a person of the same community who is a friend. Is it gonna be Vishal or Vijay?? Please put in your comments and i would finish the story accordingly.

My saying for this blog is ... "Its a woman's duty to get married as soon as possible and a man's duty not to get married as soon as possible"

My Experience with Tsunami

Tsunami is a term which i came across on the 26th of December 2004. The day started as a typical sunday morning, Deep sleep after a long sunday.Sleeping during weekends is something i look forward from monday. I got up at 7.45 in the morning, which is very early by sunday's standard. My friend deva had come home to spend saturday night. As soon as i got up, deva got a phone call from his sister checking on the earthquake. I turned on sun tv to see the flash news. I called appa immediately and checked whether he could feel the tremor. Appa said he was sitting on the chair and felt something moving, he thought it was one of my cats which pushed something. Deva had to leave at 8 in the morning.

Working in odd shift is very demanding, two things which you always have on your mind are food and sleep,Amma didnt wanna prepare Breakfast on sunday morning, I took my thaatha to Woodlands and had a pongal each and bought breakfast for everyone at home. It was around 9.45 when my uncle called up and said water had entered the land. I shrugged off saying it was a rumour. Bright sunny day, how can you have floods and that too in chennai. Then amma's friend called up and said water had come till mandavelli. I was bursting out with laughter, finally a lady came and informed my servant maid that her house was full of water. We stay 300 meters away from the beach. Amma said she would go to the beach and check things out.I still dint believe. I told them that u would first go and see and then others can come if there is any water.

I took my bike and went to the beach, It was crowded, I went to the road and saw something which i did not expect. The bench where me and deva spent the previous day night till 11 pm was history, there was water on the road. The deserted plots were filled with water, Boat on the road. I saw a lot of people from my neighbourhood, havent seen them for 7 years. Are we adopting American model of not knowing your neighbours?? Well thats not what i want to write now. I rushed back home and told amma. Amma took her scooty and went to the beach. Meanwhile My sister, cousin , paati, niece and nephew decided to take the car.Me and viku took my bike.

When i reached the beach i saw something strange, The distance of water and land had increased. Water had gone inside and there was a lot of flat land. I told viku that we could jog or play cricket here and started walking towards the water. Then we realised there was a wave nearly 10 feet high approaching us. That was the fastest i have run in 7 years (was an athlete in school). We saw a lot of people running for their life. Was i seeing Day after tomorrow movie?? I came home and told everybody about the incident. This looks exciting for me, imagine the victims of this tsunami. Afterall there are certain things which are way beyond our control.

Small kids playing cricket at the beach. Innocent beach walkers. Poor fishermen who treat this sea as their god. Who is to be blamed?? No one. But we could make a difference here. Lets make sure that we dont occupy land which is 500 meters from the sea. Lets spread this awareness. I live 300 meters away from the beach, but only for some time. Lets not play with something which we dont know. Tsunami is one such thing..

If india has to improve, learned people have to make a difference. If we sit back and wait for things to happen, we would be washed away be tsunami one day. Life is short, lets try to make a difference. This is my saying

Sweet Memories

There are some memories which are straight out of my heart and not my mind. There are people who follow their heart and there are people who follow their mind. I used to be a person ruled over by my mind. These days things have changed. You grow wiser as the day goes right?? A person who goes by his mind is an instinctive person or a freaky person. He might be right and he might be wrong,But your heart will never lie, the decisions your heart makes are absolutely true.

I am sharing memories which are special to me. These memories are in my mind. When you say memories its an incident which has happened and you are thinking about it. This is different, its gonna be incidents which are gonna happen in the future and incident which comes to my mind everyday. What does one want in life?? A decent job, good family , good friends and piece (peace) of mind. I should say am lucky to be blessed with all these things. I am luckier when i think of how i would be in another 2 years. I would have a family!!! That means responsibility. I am known to be a person who takes up responsibilities in life.

Imagine a situation where you know whom you are going to marry. I really would like to have that memory in my life. Its like a story is ready with the director ,producer and hero, but waiting for the heroine. I would say my movie would be the most romantic movie ever. I am not a person who is known to be romantic or known to show out emotions. Thats the reason why am very confident that i have reserved it for someone special. Its nothing but a jigsaw puzzle, waiting to put the last piece to complete the puzzle. I am sure the last piece would not be the least in anyway. I would definetly would be a lucky person in life to have the heroine come into my life. Its nothing but a story which is full of romance and no villans.

Hopefully i would solve my puzzle soon and introduce the last piece to everybody . I would like to finish off all my blogs with a saying.. Lemme start with one which has inspired me the most in my life

Impossible is the word found only in a fool's dicitionary
